Grundfos COMFORT pumps have a specific design for domestic hot water systems in single-family and semi-detached homes. These pumps incorporate spherical motors. Unlike conventional encapsulated motors, spherical motors do not have a rotating bearing shaft. The stator transmits the magnetic field to the rotor in the part of the pump responsible for driving the water. This pump can only be used in pressurized hot water systems. The part of the pump responsible for driving the water is hermetically separated from the stator by a spherical stainless steel separator element.
